We will explore the future of legal practice in the 2030s, analysing global AI trends and their direct relevance to New Zealand's legal professionals. Key areas for enhanced efficiency, such as contract analysis and legal document drafting, will be highlighted, alongside demonstrations of emerging AI legal assistant applications. We acknowledge the unique challenges facing New Zealand's legal sector in AI adoption, including cost considerations, varying levels of computer literacy among lawyers, and critical data privacy concerns.
