Dr Vaikunthan Rajaratnam
Dr Vaikunthan Rajaratnam is an experienced surgeon, academic, and innovator with over 40 years of expertise in hand surgery, medical education, and clinical practice. He has been at the forefront of integrating AI into healthcare, with a particular focus on improving clinical workflows, enhancing patient outcomes, and advancing education and research.
Dr Rajaratnam is recognised for his work in peripheral nerve surgery and his contributions to outcome measurement frameworks, including lived experiences and participatory action research in health care. His initiatives in setting up hand stroke clinics and addressing spasticity have significantly impacted patient care and rehabilitation.
As a UNESCO Chair partner, Dr Rajaratnam has also been instrumental in developing AI training programmes for professionals across disciplines. His unique approach combines clinical insight, technological innovation, and education, offering valuable perspectives on the future of hand surgery and healthcare.
